Good aftermeal smoke

Dr.Bob from Cedar Rapids,Ia. reviewed the LA GLORIA CUBANA SERIE R #6 MADURO GORDO

This cigar is best with a full stomach and a cup of Colombian coffee.

Bottomline: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Rating:

Pros: Good Draw, Great Flavor, Undamaged Wrapper, Well Constructed
Cons: Sometimes burns uneven
Best Uses: Events, Everyday, Gifts, Special Occasions
Describe Yourself: Cigar Aficionado

In seeking to appeal to the more sophisticated tastes of the true cigar connoisseur, La Gloria Cubana is migrating away from the milder, more popular blends in favor of rich, heavy-bodied Cuban-type blends like those from which it takes its name. With the Serie “R” line, La Gloria introduces cigars that are larger and fuller than usual. Their 52 and 54 ring gauge sizes suggest the increased flavor they carry. The stronger blend of Nicaraguan Ligero and Dominican Olor complement the larger sizes and mark a return to the full-bodied smokes long favored in the Latin tradition. But don’t let the strength of the cigar mislead you into thinking that it lacks subtlety. The Ecuador-Sumatra wrapper delivers the spicy, earthy overtones and nuances that can only be found in cigars that do not stint in the flavor department. That’s La Gloria Cubana; that’s a great Caribbean cigar experience.

Great little cheroot

Calum from Pgh, PA reviewed the ROUGHNECK TIPS 2-FER NATURAL CHEROOT RUM

Perfect little cigar for Civil War events! Good taste, period appearance, cheap enough to drop if the Confederates suddenly put in an unfriendly appearance.

Bottomline: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Rating:

Pros: Easy To Light, Good Draw, Great Flavor, Undamaged Wrapper, Well Constructed
Best Uses: Everyday

No, Roughneck’s no beauty contest winner. In point of fact, it’s coyote ugly. But if every cloud has a silver lining, for Roughneck it’s the taste. It’s a bright, clean, sweet taste that never lets you down. Roughneck is manufactured by hand in the Cheroot size, one that has been around for ages. However, the thing that sets this cigar apart from the rest is the others are machine made. With its Nicaraguan and Honduran short fillers tucked into a Sumatra wrapper, Roughneck is definitely a cut above. The tip is even sweetened slightly to add an extra dimension of taste.

Good Everyday Cigars, Even Better Prices!

Monday, May 14, 2012 by Pat The Cigar Guy

THOMPSON BLACK LABEL CORONA HABANOOne of the barriers to premium cigars are their prices. Well, actually, when you buy smokes from Thompson Cigars that's not necessarily true. You can actually get great deals every day of the week if you check out the auction page, and browse the website for discounts. Since new sales happen all the time, it pays to look through the Thompson Cigars website once or even twice a day. That said, if you aren't lucky enough to get them for a big discount, high-rated cigars are going to cost more and are sometimes out of your weekly price range.

It's always worth it to save up for the high quality smokes but you can still enjoy great cigars for low prices when you buy packs of Thompson Black Label Corona Habanos. These smokes are for aficionados on a budget but don't sacrifice taste, nor quality. Mild to medium in strength, they make for perfect everyday smokes. Packed with a blend of high quality tobacco and rolled in a Habano wrapper, these discount smokes will surprise you with their easy draw and pleasant flavors.

For one of the best deals around, buy a few packs of Thompson Black Label Corona Habanos from Thompson today.

There are rare cigars and then there are super rare cigars. And that is exactly what you get with the Padron Family Reserve 44th Aniversary. This was the very first of the Family Reserve line which was only used for special occasion affairs and never sold at retail. If you’re a collector of fine cigars than this is a must have. Each box is signed by the entire family. We only got a few so buy before they are gone.

No wonder Cusano 18 captures a 91 rating from Cigar Insider. After all, no one else in the industry is willing – or can afford – to age his filler tobaccos for eighteen years! This all-out devotion to eliminating any and all impurities in the fillers makes Cusano 18 a genuine joy to smoke. Producing flavors that are leathery and smoky with a touch of vanilla, this is as fine a smoke as you can get. Match the long fillers with equally fine Connecticut Valley Shade and it just doesn’t get any better.

Fine, Flavored Cigars for a Bargain

Saturday, May 12, 2012 by Pat The Cigar Guy

THOMPSON PERRITOS PETITE CORONA OSCURO RUMFlavor is one of the major reasons behind the enduring popularity of cigars. Once tobacco is fermented and carefully aged, flavors come out during the smoking experience that can range from deep chocolate to sweet, refreshing, tangy aromas. Master cigar makers are always searching for combinations of filler, wrapper, and binder that will result in an award-winning experience but natural tastes can also be heightened with extra flavor.

Vanilla, cherry, rum, apple, and other shades of sweetness are added to flavored smokes to appeal to aficionados who enjoy a bit of extra seasoning on their cigars. While many aficionados equate flavored smokes with machine-made cigars, some high quality flavored brands are made by hand. This is the case for those fantastic smokes offered by ACID as well as Thompson Perritos. Exclusively available from Thompson Cigars, Perritos are small cheroots that pack in the flavor with quality filler tobacco flavored with vanilla, rum, honey, cherry, or amaretto. The dark "oscuro" wrapper adds to the complexity of these quality smokes for an excellent smoking experience. When you can buy a box of 60 Thompson Perritos for just $65.95, that's a bargain in anyone's book!

Next to the LaGloria Cubana Crystal Natural Lonsdale, this is my favorite cigar. It is a little darker than the LaGloria but not by much. The taste reminds me of dark chocolate. It draws easily and stays lit without having to be constantly tended. Great for the golf course or for a walk with the dogs.

Padron fan

Friday, May 11, 2012 by Customer Reviews

Randall from Williamsburg, VA reviewed the PADRON 1964 ANIVERSARIO DIPLOMATICO NATURAL CHURCHILL

I bought the natural wrapper on auction and got a good deal on these. I love Padron and thought this would be near the top of the list. My experience is that they are a well constructed cigar except that the wrapper seems thin and a little delicate. The flavor is mild and certainly is a good cigar, but I have to say that it isn't everything I hoped it would be.

Bottomline: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Rating:

Pros: Easy To Light, Good Draw
Cons: Wrapper Imperfections
Best Uses: Special Occasions
Describe Yourself: Two a week smoker

Less than 5% of Padrón’s torcedores are deemed experienced enough to work on the company’s exclusive Anniversary Series, so less than 5% of the company’s already modest output is devoted to these cigars. With so few in production, the Anniversary Series is carefully allotted, and we have laboriously hoarded all we have been offered until we accumulated enough inventory to feature it in our catalog. Obviously, we cannot be sure when we will be able to repeat this offer. Due to the high demand and low production it’s unlikely these cigars can be found easily anywhere else, so we urge you to get them while you can

These are Some Seriously Fat, Fine Cigars

Thursday, May 10, 2012 by Pat The Cigar Guy

FAT BOY I NATURAL GORDOAs every seasoned aficionado knows, cigars come in many shapes and sizes. There are little cigarillos for those times when you need a quick smoke. Many of these are flavored with rum, vanilla, cherry, or other choice seasonings to add to the experience. Some cigars are at the opposite end of the spectrum with lengths so impressive that they look as if they might need their own walking stick to prop them up. There are medium-sized smokes, thin sticks, and short, fat cigars. However, there are few cigars in the world as fat as the Fat Boy III Natural Gordos from Thompson Cigars.

With a massive 70 ring gauge, the name of these Churchills just about says it all. You won't find any extra space in these big boys either. Each smoke is packed with 5 long filler leaves that guarantee a long-lasting experience. These extra large smokes are also hand rolled with a natural wrapper and use fine, fermented tobacco from the Dominican Republic. The sheer size of these smokes really makes one wonder how long it took to roll them. You can contemplate that while taking even longer to slowly smoke these solid, premium smokes.

Order and enjoy Fat Boy Natural Gordos from Thomson Cigars!

Love the size and the smoke.
