There are cigars for just about every price range and situation. The cheapest of cigars aren't necessarily the worst but they probably aren't going to provide as enjoyable experience as more expensive smokes. Higher priced cigars tend to also receive high ratings because more time and care is usually put into the process of making them. In addition, the best of smokes earn their place of distinction because the people who craft them only use certain types of tobacco, leaf that comes from certain varieties of seed, and are often fanatic about quality control.
Brands like Ashton and Davidoff come to mind when aficionados talk about such high-rated, high quality cigars. Nevertheless, there is at least one brand of cigar that makes use of the same types of leaf as those top-shelf smokes yet offers its cigars for a substantially lower price. The company in question is known as "Gispert" and it's hard to find smokes that provide more bang for your buck than their high quality offerings. These excellent cigars use Honduran tobacco for a robust, bold experience and their quality will make you wonder how they can sell them at such lower prices than other brands.
Find these excellent, discount smokes and all of your cigar needs at Thompson Cigars today.
The Davidoff line is by far the cigars of class. I really enjoy a top quality smoke when the time is right. Hands down smooth.

This Davidoff Cigar Assortment makes an elegant present to delight connoisseurs and friends alike. The beautifully designed boxes and their precious contents are a tribute to the famed Davidoff quality. This cigar assortment contains 1 each of the 2000, Special Series "R", and Classic No. 2.
There's no need to reiterate the Davidoff legend for quality; this small package affirms that it's all true. The packaging is Patrician, understated, and does justice to protecting the integrity and humidity of the cigars inside. With only three in the sampler it leaves one craving for more, on the other hand, it is a nice teaser for new smoker and gormet alike. The small cigar is perfect for a cigarette break with friends, the panatella is extraordinarily easy drawing, and the Davidoff Special is, well, "special". Would but we all could afford to enjoy these every day!

Cigars should never be placed in the same category as cigarettes. This would be like lumping a bottle of vintage, single malt scotch with boxed wine. The two are clearly very different and this extends to factors that go beyond their taste. While any ashtray will do for cigarettes, cigars deserve something a bit more refined. They require ashtrays designed to hold them because they last much, much longer than any cigarette. The ashtray should be capable of catching and storing the ashes generated by a quality smoke, and its appearance should match the prestige of cigar smoking. Here are three ideas for quality ashtrays engineered for the cigar smoking experience:
Xicar Portable Stainless Steel Ash Can: This small ashtray is perfect for the car, boat, or carrying around the house. Sturdy and svelte in appearance, it also has an internal cigar holder.
Davidoff White Ashtray: This is an ashtray with a large dose of elegance. The simple, square design and fine, gleaming white porcelain make it one of the classiest ashtrays around. The two cigar holding grooves also make it perfect for sharing a smoke with a friend.
A great daily smoke. Quite enjoyable especially for the price.

If you like Partagas, Montecristo, Davidoff, cigars that sell for seven and eight bucks apiece, you'll love Eros. It has Cuban-seed, Nicaraguan grown Piloto Cubano long filler tobaccos. These filler leaves are carefully selected, double fermented, and aged to their peak of mildness. To this wonderful blend is added a prime Dominican Olor binder which produces a rich subtlety. But by far the most delightful part is Eros' wrapper. It's a beautiful, sweet-smoking Ecuadorian. The product of loving attention from farm to finished cigar, Eros earns its name.
By all rights, a smoke this good ought to cost dearly, but not Eros. Though it possesses a level of quality unheard of in a mass-market cigar, despite its excellence, it's surprisingly affordable. Truly, Eros presents the flavor and quality of a boutique cigar at a mass market price.
The box press is a great tasting mild smoke that I enjoy early in the day. It's packed a little tight and may require a little "rounding" to draw easily.

We are ready to duke it out with the big guys and go puff for puff with them with the new Thompson Dominican Box Press. What makes us so confident is the ratings in the 90’s from our own famous (around Tampa) and absolutely incorruptible panel of smokers. OK so they are our guys – but they know a good cigar when they smoke one. And that’s enough reason for us to blow our own horn and challenge the fancy brands like Davidoff and Griffin. Thompson Dominicans Box Press sells for 1/4 their price and I guarantee totally every cigar. If you don’t like them, return them for any reason at all and you get your money back.
This Belmondo cigarillo is "big" on flavor, quality, and value. This is one of my current Club selections and a very fine smoke. I can pretend I'm Clint Eastwood as I wind down with my Belmondo.

If you're looking to be young, hip and trendy, Zino Cigars are for you. Or at least, the company is marketing them to your demographic.
The Zino Platinum Scepter Series is a partnership between the Oettinger Davidoff Group and the marketing folks. It's chasing the young hip-hop crowd, and though the marketing jargon can be painful to read (check out their website and you get text like:
"The campaign 'Long Live De Can! – His Majesty's Smokin’ Dawgs' is inspired by the fact that 'dog' is pronounced 'dawg' in hip-hop slang and constitutes a term of endearment rather than an insult."
Don't be quoting that like when you're smoking one of these at the club. You will sound like a dork. Using the word "dork" also makes you sound like a dork, but I make no pretense of being cool anyway.
But you will definitely enjoy these cigars whether or not you're actually a young man who loves to smoke and has money to burn. Because the thing is that when you chase that market, you have to come with a strong product. Nobody buys bottle service or pays more than ten bucks a cigar for something mediocre -- the entire point is that you want and deserve the best.
The Zino Platinum Scepter Series bears the signature blending style of Hendrik Kelner, and this is one of the best Dominican cigars around. It has earned a 90-plus rating and rave reviews, exactly what you'd expect from this brand -- and these marketing folks.
First, the caveat. Everything from Davidoff costs a lot.
Second, the payoff. It's also pretty much the best there is.
The company's cigars are made in the Dominican Republic, from some of the best tobacco on an island that's second to none in terms of the quality it grows. The man behind the quality is cigar blender Hendrik Kelner, and he has a lot to live up to when he makes his selections.
When you make Davidoff cigars, you know that every one of your cigars will be judged with a critical eye. People will accept imperfections from a less expensive smoke, but when you're paying the price for a premium cigar you tend to expect a lot more. Davidoff can't afford a bad batch of cigars, and as a consequence does not produce anything inferior. You pay for quality, and with Davidoff you get it.
A great way to discover what the company offers is the Davidoff 12 cigar sampler. It's a selection of a dozen incredible Dominican cigars, tasting like every leaf was chosen personally for every hand-rolled masterpiece. And it's a great example of the time-honored saying: "You get what you pay for."
Every news source this time of year has a selection of the most outlandish presents to give the person who has everything, items costing a zillion dollars that look very cool and will be appreciated for at least 2% as long as it would take for most of us to pay them off.
Thompson Cigar doesn't have anything quite like that -- I checked, and there are no cigars made with rare minerals and encrusted with gold dust for $10,000 each -- but I thought it might be fun to put together a holiday gift set that would be perfect if you have a ton of money to spend and a recipient who would appreciate only the finest of the finer things in life. I'm not going to pick the smokes, but stick to the cigar accessories that would accompany the recipients premium cigars.
Since every cigar needs to be lit, the Davidoff China-Lacquer Palladium Lighter does so with style and panache, and while it won't make any king of Wall Street blanch at the price tag, its $985 is the priciest of the lighters here. The Xikar Havana Collection cigar cutter is literally my favorite cigar accessory we sell, and is a relative bargain at $299. And the cigars can all go in the new Davidoff Rosewood Century Humidor, as great a humidor as you'll ever find for a shade under $2000.
That means you can buy all three for around $3300, plus all applicable taxes. If you need someone to get these for, let me know and I'll send you my name and address. But anyone who wants the best of the best and doesn't mind paying what it takes to get it can find plenty of winners here.
Let's get this out of the way first: Davidoff cigar cutters are not for the faint of heart, or the light of budget. You can get something very capable of handling any cigar in your humidor for a fraction of the cost. That having been said ... is there anything better, in terms of quality and style, than Davidoff cigar accessories? That's hard for me to believe. They take simple devices and turn them into objects that you want to stare at in admiration as much as you want to attack your Padron cigar with.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Davidoff cigar accessories are not the cheapest on the market. If you're looking to save some cash, there are plenty of other great buys available on Thompson cigar. But here's the thing. You won't find anything of higher quality, or made of finer materials, or with greater care.
Take the Davidoff travel humidor, for example. The small travel humidor holds between four and six cigars, and is currently on sale for a little over $800. If all you're looking for is something to keep your cigars safe when you travel, you can certainly find cheaper cigar humidors.
But for many of us, it's more than the bottom line that matters. It's the handmade object crafted from the finest materials. It's the look that stands out from the crowd and is guaranteed to impress whenever anyone sees it. It's the functionality that will keep your cigars fresh under harsh conditions.
In short, Davidoff cigar accessories are designed to be the best. And if you are someone who demands the best of everything and won't rest until you find it, well, we make it easy here at Thompson cigar. The best travel humidor is the one that is pictured to your right, and getting one is as easy as clicking the "add to cart" button.
I write about Davidoff cigar accessories a lot, because they are just about the most striking cigar-related objects available with the price tags to match.
Then, as I watched a friend break out his Davidoff China Lacquer Palladium Lighter that perfectly matched his cufflinks, it struck me that thinking of Davidoff products as just cigar accessories sells them far too short. Much like a fine watch is designed to display a man's station in life and sense of style as much as it is to tell the time, Davidoff cigar accessories are essentially pieces of jewelry for guys.
Most of the time when I'm out smoking cigars, it is a casual occasion and I care much more about function than looks. In those cases, I grab whatever gear is handy, in case I leave it behind or lose it.
But when it's a big work-related function or social occasion that I need to impress people at, I have a Davidoff Grain of Barley Silver Plated Lighter that I inherited from an uncle who is both a cigar smoker and a serial upgrader. When I match that with my silver cufflinks and Raymond Weil Tango watch, I feel like a business tycoon, and (I hope) look the part of a major player as well. That's what Davidoff cigar accessories bring to the table ... a sense that the finer things in life are something that you deserve, and a sure way of standing out from the crowd.
Plus, calling it a piece of jewelry is a good way of justifying the expense when the rest of the family sees the bill.
These are the "Top Gun" of cigars -- the best of the best. Davidoff White Label cigars are hand-made with the greatest care. When you smoke one, you'll wonder if every leaf was individually studied, measured, and sampled to ensure that the flavors blended together perfectly. These are so luxurious that you'll wonder if you should smoke them now or save them for a special occasion, like if the Pope comes over or the President of the United States asks you to join him for a smoke at the White House. That's a slight exaggeration, but trust me -- if you're ever in that situation, these are absolutely appropriate cigars for it.
Think about these premium cigars if you're in the market for a top notch gift or - - better keep them for yourself instead.
As the baseball season winds down, we're getting to watch a lot of footage of the celebrations of playoff teams. The classic images always include the bubbly spraying everywhere, and players puffing on cigars. I have no idea if there is any effort taken to pair the cigar to provide the best complimentary experience to the champagne, but I'm guessing the answer to that is no. In fact, if you're a baseball player who actually thinks about these things, you're probably looking more for a cigar that will stay lit even when the champagne is spreading all over the place and beer is getting dumped on your head. Besides, everyone is so happy in the clubhouse that they could be smoking dried leaves from the trees in the backyard and would probably love it.
But if you're a fan of one of those teams and you want to celebrate in style, take some more care in your cigar selection. There's the Davidoff Classic, (in a tube, in case there's spillage when you open the bottle), a mild cigar with a flavor that meshes well with the drink. The Illusione Epernay is also a classic, worthy of a World Series winner.
Neither of those choices will make your celebration as crazy as the players jumping up and down on the field -- but then again, you'll probably appreciate your cigar more.

Three qualities that are looked at in every pipe tobacco are the strength of the tobacco, the flavoring of it, and the aroma that comes from it. Scotch Whiskey Davidoff Pipe Tobacco passes all three of these tests with flying colors.
With a mild to medium strength and a full and savory flavor, the Davidoff Scotch Whiskey tobacco will indeed provide a smoke as stimulating as the conversation that so oft accompanies a good pipe smoking. As for the aroma given off by this particular blend, only positive statements can be made. The fragrant clouds of smoke that it produces are unmistakably pleasant to both smokers and non-smokers alike. Another extremely desirable quality to be examined in a pipe tobacco is the way in which it burns. The way in which a pipe tobacco burns makes all the difference in the way it smokes in the pipe. Does it burn too hot? Does it burn out to fast? Does it burn evenly throughout? These are the questions to consider when evaluating a pipe tobacco – and in each case the Mac Baren Scotch Whiskey mix excels far and above the average pipe tobacco. It does not burn too hot, it does not burn out to fast, and typically burns evenly throughout the duration of the smoke.
This tobacco will satiate the smoking desires of both the veteran and novice. When it comes to Davidoff Pipe Tobacco, it is hard to go wrong, but when it comes to the Scotch Whiskey blend, there have been too many smokers that have gone far too long without experiencing this smoke that is truly an adventure into the realm of pipe tobacco.
