My first humidor

BH from Fort Lauderdale, FL reviewed the CHURCHILL 125 COUNT HUMIDOR

Let me first say that this is my first humidor so I have nothing to compare it to. I seasoned my humidor for two days and calibrated the hygrometer. I used online directions because the directions provided by Thompson seemed rushed. After two days of seasoning and calibrating the hygrometer, I was ready to test out the humidor. The hygrometer never worked following its calibration so I had to buy a digital one. Once ready, I loaded my humidor with about 60 cigars. After a day I noticed that the humidity stabilized at 73% without any humidifier inside (I live in South Florida). It held steady until we experienced 50-60 degree weather, which made the hygrometer dip to 65%. As soon as I placed a humi-jell jar inside the humidor, it leveled my humidity to about 72%.I would say that this humidor is great for keeping the humidity inside stable as long as the temperature/humidity in the surrounding environment is stable. Otherwise, you will need to play around with the humidifying device. I'm planning on purchasing the beads from [...] that will accurately level the humidity.

Bottomline: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Rating:

Pros: Attractive Design, Great Craftsmanship, Holds Humidity, Tight Seal
Cons: Inaccurate Hygrometer
Best Uses: 50 or More Cigars, Displaying Cigars, Storing Cigars
Describe Yourself: Aspiring Aficionado, Special Occasion Smoker

The Churchill 125 is a beautiful, glass top humdidor with a dark cherry finish. The state-of-the-art hygrometer is on the outside so you don't have to open the humidor to make sure your at the ideal 70%. Holds up to 125 cigars.
